App Empire Review – Introduction

Automatic Appreneur Bonus Review

Automatic Appreneurs Need a Great First Impression

For this chapter, Chad talks about how unprepared he was when trying to ask a beautiful girl out while at a party. He admittedly was clueless when he walked into the party.  As he spent some time there, he noticed a guy that was attracting all the girls, with his posture commanding attention, and saying all the right things. Chad took this in turn it into a business lesson for himself as he began to build his App Empire: presentation is important.

Chad made the decision that he was going to learn from this guy who later taught him how to draw people in and entertain them. After that, Chad admits that his social life completely changed for the better.

He admits that he was still the same guy who cluelessly walked into his first party, but he had learned how to present himself to get a new result. This lesson translated very well in building his App Empire Automatic Appreneur system.

In essence, this is how all marketing works – you create an experience that intrigues people from the beginning to they feel confident with her decision to invest their time in you.

App Empire Review – there are many app developers but few app marketers

The fact of the matter is that the app stores are filled with thousands of great apps but most developers are not skilled enough in marketing – meanwhile, many poorly designed apps are raking in the cash.

The key takeaway here that Chad continually emphasizes in his book the that to be successful in the app business you don’t need to come up with the most innovative app on the planet – all you need to do provide value and understand the strategies to market your app to the right customer at the right time.

App Empire Review – how to set yourself apart from the competition

Your app needs to be a well-designed quality app, but most importantly it must be findable.

Chad talks about how most developers focus almost exclusively on creating apps and severely underestimate the importance of implementing some of the most basic marketing techniques. When we talk about marketing here that shouldn’t scare you – were talking about low-cost basic marketing the get your app in front of the right people.

Chad recommends not spending money on advanced marketing until you see demand for your app and it start to make money with it. The more effective your marketing the more people will see your apps. The more people see your apps, the more downloads and dollars you will get. Just like effective online marketing – building your Automatic Appreneur App Empire is a numbers game.

App Empire Review – First impressions are important, so look the part!

Because apps are an impulse buy much of the time, users typically access the icon, title, action, and screenshots before downloading.

Your app must look good, attract the user’s attention, and compel them to investigate your app. Your app icon is the first impression you will make on the users.

The bonuses you will find on this website are some of the best you’ll find anywhere – because the bonuses I have created are directly taken from what you will need to launch your first successful app based on Chad Mureta’s Recommendations. Bonus number one is the graphic design and creation of your first icon for your first app. Learn more about bonuses on this page.

App Empire Review – The title needs to telegraph ‘solution’ to your target user

The next most important feature is the title of your app – it needs to be something memorable, catchy, and related to the terms and keywords people use to find this type of app. The title needs to be memorable and specific to what your app does. Make sure you’re looking at other successful apps in the App Store.

App Empire Review – Your app description communicates the unique benefits your app provides

The next most important thing is the description. Having a compelling description for your app is like having a great opening line when you’re wanting to meet that fabulous girl at a party.

Think of this as a USP in direct response marketing lingo. This is your unique selling proposition – your value statement for people as they browse through apps to find the one that will meet their needs. This is a well constructed description of your app that will present the benefits and features of your app to the right people at the right time.

App Empire Review – Keywords aren’t just for Google anymore…

Keywords are also an important part of marketing your app properly. Your target demographic will use them to find your apps in the App Store. Each word in your app title represents a keyword.

The best way to determine keywords for your app is think like the users would. What is your target audience looking for? What keywords they used to find what you’re looking for? Maybe you want to start with the Google free keyword tool to explore what keywords people are using to find tools to solve problems.

App Empire Review – App shopping is like any other shopping: think relevance and need

App shopping is like any other kind of shopping. Chad discusses if you go into a store for batteries, and happen to walk by the toothbrushes, you’re not likely to buy a tooth brush when all you need are batteries. Its the same for buying apps.

Chad makes his point that the keywords must be relevant, or users will ignore your product even if it’s part of the search results. When coming up with keywords Chad advises that you consider these three questions:

  1. What is the demographic?
  2. What are the users needs?
  3.  What are they searching for?

App Empire Review – How to use app categories

In this chapter, Chad also talks about categories. Quite simply, app categories help users find relevant apps more easily. Some of the categories in the app store include games, entertainment, utilities, books, business, education, and so on.

In addition to the top overall rankings of the apps, each category has its own top rankings in the app store,  generating a certain amount of visibility based on these charts. When you’re submitting your app for review, you select a category that you would like you have to appear in.

Some categories are more competitive than others. Make sure you check out the categories of competing apps to see which category they seem to be the most popular in. This would give you a good idea where you should be putting your app as you are building your Automatic Appreneur income.

App Empire Review – Starting with free as an app marketing strategy

Chad talks about how free apps create the most traffic because they have the smallest barrier to entry. It takes 5 seconds to download the app, and it’s free. People love free. We all know this is as marketers. Why wouldn’t you try that app out? It’s free. More free apps are downloaded than paid apps.

When the free version of your app gains some traction, you can always use it to advertise the paid version of the exact same app. Think of this like getting a free food sample at the supermarket. If you like the food you tasted, you might as well go buy the whole bag and become a long-term customer. Again we don’t have to reinvent the wheel here people. If it works at the supermarket can work at the app store.

App Empire Review – Be ready for the long haul if necessary

Chad once again reminds us that you will not always hit the bull’s-eye with your first app attempt. You must understand and accept this concept. You do not want to ignore these marketing basics. Don’t blame the app for poor marketing. You have to be a good marketer as well as a good researcher and developer.

Just as your app will always need additional refinements and tweaks and at the to customer feedback – your marketing will need that as well. What makes it at successful is improving it and making regular adjustments.

Chad talks about for most of his apps, he changed the icon and screenshots 3 to 5 times and the title and description between 5 and 10 times. He constantly talks about refining and testing to make sure that his apps are being found by the right people in the right market. He attributes this to his success as an automatic appreneur.

App Empire Review – Testing testing and more testing as a key for success

Chad talks about adding one word to one of the keywords for one of his apps and it skyrocketed the app to the top of the overall free category. Were talking about the difference from making $1000 a day to almost $3000 a day.

When people start buying your app, the marketing still doesn’t stop there. Turn them into raving fans of the spread the word about your app and come back for more. You must keep giving them reasons to come back to you.

Lastly, constantly be asking the question: how do you know if your marketing is working? The answer to this is analytics. If you been in the online marketing space at all in the last 5 to 10 years, you know that analytics is absolutely key to success in marketing. You might as well forget marketing you can find out who’s buying and why through analytics. Chad emphasizes that this is a crucial crucial point to the health of your App Empire Automatic Appreneur business

Chad Mureta App Empire Bonus Review

Build an App Empire Without Knowing a Line of Code

App Empire Review – Outsourcing Your Way to Millions

In chapter 5, Chad describes a conversation he had in the doctors office with an 88-year-old man. Chad admittedly was bragging about his million dollar app idea when the old guy started poking holes in his creativity and asking a lot of questions. How are you going to do it? Frustrated, Chad jump on a plane back to Vermont and started thumbing through a fresh copy of MacWorld magazine. There he found and ad for developers offering to turn app ideas into cash.

Chad went to an initial meeting with them and was encouraged that they were supportive of his app ideas and creativity. Chad mentions that the great thing about programmers as they can get you answers that perhaps would’ve blocked your natural creativity and momentum in getting your first app going. The team he met with not only encourages creativity, but took away some of the perceived roadblocks Chad thought it would hit along the way.

Chads primary message is this hire good people and manage them to make your app Empire automatic afternoon were dreams come true

App Empire Review – Key Strategy: Automatic Appreneurs Leave the Coding to Somebody Else

Some people jump in and think they have to learn to code their own apps in order to get going. Chad highly advises against it. One of the main reasons is momentum – the idea is to get your app out into the market as soon as possible. Coding your own apps takes a long time – especially if you’re teaching yourself at the same time. The likelihood of you giving up is very high.

The other reason outsource is because you have to remember you are the business owner – you are building your own App Empire. You don’t want to be doing it all yourself. Your job is researching, marketing, networking, and learning about what apps are the most profitable for you to enter the market with. You have to focus on more high level operations of the company rather than getting bogged down by the details of how the app is going to be developed.

App Empire Review – How to Find the Right Programmers

Chad advises that you have to be very selective and discerning when it comes to finding programmers. He compares it to finding the right builder to build your dream home – you want to make sure they have the chops. When it comes to selecting programmers Chad recommends looking at their experience, indication, team, cost, and if there is any conflict of interest.

Chad does not recommend hiring the cheapest programmer but to always go by a sample of the apps they have created. Download the apps they have created and see if they work. Are they clean and simple? Is the design attractive and intuitive? Does it look professional? One of the easiest and fastest ways to determine if you found a quality app development team is by looking at their apps, testing them out, and seeing if they are well done.

Chad recommends asking for references and talking to at least one person who has worked with the programmer before proceeding. after you are finished with your initial assessment, and have the programmer sign an NDA, you can get into the specifics necessary to make to the programmer has the necessary skills to help you build your App Empire.

App Empire Review – Communication is Key

Another key component is communication. Sure it might be cheaper to work with programmers in other countries for pennies on the dollar an hour, however Chad recommends working with programmers share your native language whatever that may be. It may cost more but in the long run it is well worth it.

Chad also recommends that you work with programmers who can educate you about the technical aspects of building your app. You’re looking for programmers who are willing and able to explain things in non-technical terms. Because building an App Empire is a very fast-paced process, delays because of lousy communication is something you cannot afford. Chad’s general rule is to be as responsive as you expect them to be to you. He confesses early on that when he was late getting his programmers the proper content they needed, he created a bottleneck. Bottlenecks do not create Automatic Appreneurs.

Chad also recommends not working in completely separate time zones unless you can get at least four hours a day to communicate with your developer. Anything else is simply unsustainable.

App Empire Review – Communication is Key

Chad recommends whenever possible hire a team rather than an individual – especially in the beginning stages of building your App Empire. Teams are generally more reliable. Teams can pick up the slack if the programmer working on your app gets sick or becomes unavailable. Plus, a bigger team and get things done faster.

The biggest reason for using a team is that they usually have graphic designers and sometimes project managers who will see your project through. They know what to look for, they know how after supposed to go together, and you will benefit from their combined experience.

The best situation is having a programmer to code and create graphics the second-best situation is working with a graphic designer and a programmer to get. Chad says:

“You will also use graphics to market your apps, so having a graphic designer you need killer marketing materials is a must.” – Chad Mureta, App Empire, The Automatic Appreneur

Chad talks about how you can expect a wide range of prices and services from the many companies and independent developers competing  for your business.

He recommends starting with contractors offer a flat fee with a certain number of free refinements. Chad is not recommending developing apps and hourly rate because the developer does not have an incentive to finish fast. Chad recommends fixed-rate projects for this reason as well as the reason for being able to stay within a budget if you know exactly how much will it cost.

As payment goes, Chad recommends you should never pay 100% upfront in full. If the programmer asks for a down payment, ask them for milestones and prices for each of the stage of the app project. Do everything it takes to make sure that they have full intent on delivering what you’re paying for.

Some programmers will lower their costs if they receive a royalty. Chad does not recommend this. You do not necessarily want a web programmer as a business partner before you even know if the app is going to make money, otherwise you get stuck.

App Empire Review – How to Evaluate Programmers

When Chad approaches programmers he goes through a process of evaluation and some of the following questions:

  • how many apps have you worked on?
  • What time do you usually work? What are your hours?
  • The you create the graphics yourself. You have someone who can Western
  • can you provide flat the quotes Western
  • what is your payment schedule?
  • What is your schedule like? How soon could you start with

This list will change based on who you’re talking to. An established development company will most likely have a team of developers and graphic designers on staff – but you still must get answers to the questions before moving forward.

Chad always has this question list in front of him during the interview and take notes based on the responses he gets. This doesn’t have to be stiff and uncomfortable – you can have some fun with this after all you want to like the people that you’re working with.

App Empire Review – Top Outsourcing Sites

Recommends three of the top outsourcing sites for you to build your app Empire, these are:

  1. Odesk.com
  2. freelancers.com
  3. elance.com

There are advantages and disadvantages to all the sites however this is where Chad starts looking for qualified programmers.

App Empire Review – Programmers Like Pictures and Diagrams

When contacting your programmers, one of the very key issues is making sure you are communicating clearly and concisely exactly what you want your app look like and operate like. Early on while becoming an automatic appreneur, Chad talks about how this was a challenge for him and realized that he simply was not communicating well enough with the programmers.

Then he started doing drawings and wireframes of his concepts as well as having the developers download and take a look at apps where he referenced specific areas that he wanted to emulate. That’s when things really started to come together and he was able to develop apps very very quickly because the programmers knew exactly what he was looking for.

Chad emphasizes the need to have clear drawings, wireframes, and outlines of your app to be able to communicate clearly as well as to help yourself clarify how your app is ultimately going to perform.

Generally graphic designers are the visual ones in the room. For app developers, they may be able to code effectively but remember they are coding a visual product. They need to see it before they can design and code.

App Empire Review – Test Your Developers First

He recommends spending a couple hundred dollars in testing ot the developers to make sure they have the chops – the tests their graphic capabilities, implementation speed, and overall work dynamic. The process of finding the right programmer might take some time but this is time well spent. Do not cut any corners with this critical step in building your App Empire.

App Empire Review – Testing Your App With Your Friends and Family

Lastly Chad talks about testing your apps. He recommends pulling out your initial design document and going through every feature. Never assume. Take the time to hope, pride, twist, and stretch your app any which way possible to make sure it performs exactly how you designed it to.

Since you probably can have a large team of well-paid engineers to do the testing, you can use the friends and family plan that Chad recommends. In other words get everyone you know to download the app and test it out. The time you spend on this is crucial because you will see how consumers use your product.

Chad recommends simply handing your phone to someone and say “hey check this out” – don’t mention that is your app and what is supposed to do – just let them figure it out. Watch them carefully as they test out your product. Get them to tell you about their experience with it. Don’t tell them it’s your app so they will be completely honest with you about what they think of it. This feedback is priceless as you build your app Empire.

Next chapter: how to market your apps!

App Empire Review – Introduction

Chad Mureta App Empire Automatic Appreneur Review

Don't Try and Reinvent the App Wheel...

For this App Empire Review of chapter 4, Chad talks about the importance of not necessarily trying to invent something totally new, when it comes to building your own App Empire.

Chat talks about new Appreneurs and how easily they can rush in to the business with lots of big dollar signs flashing in their eyes, but what they don’t realize it’s a system for everything that needs to happen when building Automatic Appreneur income.

The key take away here for me was learning the funnel enthusiasm into a system.

Chad makes the point clearly that if you don’t do that from the get-go, you’ll easily give up at the first sign of difficulty while building your own app empire. He talked about many appreneurs give up after their very first app when they could have ended up succeeding if they would have stuck it out.

App Empire Review – No, You Probably Won’t hit a Home Run the First Time Up To Bat

What I appreciate about Chad as he is very real and very authentic about his experience. He gets straight to the point that your first app will probably not be hit or make money and that’s just the reality of the business.

He talks about not falling in love with your idea which is something entrepreneurs love to do – myself included. I carry around a black notebook with me where I record ideas constantly. For me it’s a fail safes so I can try and keep my entrepreneurial ADD in check. I have a ton of ideas that I am always putting in there – at least a few every week if not every day. The important thing I’ve learned though is to get these things out of my head and get them in a record of some kind so I can move on to more urgent projects. But that’s a whole other post entirely.

Chad talks about if you’re passionate about a specific subject it’s a good starting point to explore app ideas. Its similar to picking a niche if you doing affiliate marketing or any type of internet information product. Find something that you have some type interest in, because you need that interest pull you along and hold your attention long enough to get your first successful app off the ground.

In addition is always advantageous to work on something that you will enjoy because you have more insight on the topic will be more dedicated to making it work.

Again don’t get too married to the idea – if the market is not showing demand for your idea nix it.

App Empire Review – Don’t Reinvent the Wheel

Chad gets very serious and very honest about how he created his very successful apps and built his own App Empire – he simply did his homework and find out the most highest selling apps and used them as a guide to build his own.

He talks about how developers make the mistake all the time about falling in love with their own ideas they spent a lot of time and effort creating apps and when it doesn’t work based on testing and learning from the market they go to the next untested idea. This is a vicious cycle that repeats itself until they run out of money and patience. App Empire Automatic Appreneur was designed to prevent this from happening to you and I.

App Empire Review – Don’t Reinvent the Wheel

Chad also cautions us against taking advice from friends and family. Our friends and family are consumers, bottom line. They are not to take the time to do the market research and patience and dedication that you’re going to have while building your App Empire as an automatic appreneur.

Chad says: stick your game plan and stay focused on your idea from concept to development. The only thing that should sway you should be data and facts – not other people’s subjective opinion. Don’t making things harder than they have to be.

App Empire Review – 8 Criteria for Creating Profitable Apps

Chad gives his criteria for evaluating your ideas on whether or not they are candidates for being profitable.Chad literally gives us a list of eight traits every successful app has – and if your app idea does not have at least 6 of these you should cross it off your list. Here’s the characteristics every one of your apps should strive for:

  1. funny/entertaining
  2. intuitive
  3. engaging
  4. addictive
  5. valuable
  6. cross-cultural
  7. great graphics and sound
  8. viral

I have to admit I had across a few my app ideas right off my list. Most of my app ideas had about three or four of these characteristics – but not nearly 8. (I can appreciate the money and time I will be saving my investing in Chad’s App Empire Automatic Appreneur course.)

App Empire Review – Why Timing is a Key Component of Successful Apps

Another crucial component when it comes to deciding what app idea to go with is timing. Chad talks about the fact that because the market is so new the idea you have right now may not be the idea that won’t gain a huge following in the future and be extremely profitable for you.

He talks about this principle when he was researching yoga apps while he was in rehab, which were not popular at the time. Two years later, he saw that yoga apps were ranked second in the health and fitness category. This goes to show that you should not scrap your app idea entirely – maybe it’s just a market timing issue.

Chad’s overall strategy is to create straightforward low-cost apps that are in the same ballpark as those with proven success in the market. He reiterated that the only way to know if your idea successful is to test it in the market. There’s no shortcuts and there’s no way around this. He always talks about you can add on all the bells and whistles the market has affirmed that they want once you know your app is something people want.

In App Empire Automatic Appreneur he’s teaching us the best way to test your app in a market is doing a free version first and then if it takes off you can always upgrade to a paid premium version later.

Overall, I enjoyed this chapter because it sets me up to have the proper expectations necessary to become an appreneur. This is one reason why decided to promote Chads course and book – the guy just is not about hype and all the other marketing BS that is out there. He gives it to you straight and sent if your expectations properly for the journey ahead and becoming an Automatic Appreneur.

Next post chapter 5 – you’re the brains and their the brawn – how to hire great programmers.

Stay tuned!
